Senior Design Engineer – Plumbing

Location: [Chennai] | Industry: Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, Healthcare, IT, Industrial

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Design Engineer – Plumbing
with a strong background in building services design and execution. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality projects across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect requirements, prepare load estimates, design basis reports, and plumbing system designs (sanitary fixtures, water supply, drainage, rainwater & stormwater management, RO plants, pumps, centralized hot water systems – Solar/Heat Pump).
  • Size and design water/sewage treatment plants.
  • Prepare 2D drawings (water supply & drainage, schematic/single-line diagrams, sections, elevations, sump/OHT with details).
  • Develop material take-off sheets, BOQs, technical specifications, and budgetary estimates.
  • Manage project execution including RFIs, quality reports, material/drawing approvals, and client coordination.
  • Prepare water load estimates, water balance sheets, and storage requirements.
  • Monitor site progress and provide regular updates to management and clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
    B.E. (Mechanical/Civil) or Diploma (Mechanical/Civil).
  • Experience:
    7–10 years in plumbing design for hotels, hospitals, offices, IT fit-outs, apartments, industries, and commercial/residential buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of water supply/distribution and design codes (NBC, SP 35, UPC).

Technical Skills:

  • Mandatory:
    AutoCAD, MS Office proficiency.
  • Added Advantage:
    Revit MEP.

Functional Skills:

  • Strong design and drawing expertise.
  • Documentation (BOQ, estimates, technical specs).
  • Project execution and client coordination.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Other Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Team player with adaptability and creativity.
  • Willingness to travel to client offices and project sites.
