Lead Inventory and logistics
- Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and procurement teams to forecast demand and manage scheduling activities.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure Zero stoppage for final assembly line or machining line due to non availability of RM, semi-finish part or BOP part.
- Adept in handling and managing 2500 SKU's for raw material, semi-finish parts, BOP parts (domestic & Imports), IDM tooling and consumable items.
- Implementation the Inventory Optimization & System Development Projects like JIT, KANBAN, Milk Run, 3 Bins System, EDI, GGP & ASN.
- Logistics Operations:
- Oversee the logistics operations, including the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and finished products.
- Optimize transportation and distribution strategies to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Manage relationships with logistics service providers and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
- Proficient in end-to-end Material Planning, Inventory Control Planning and Execution.
- Managing end to end warehouse activities in view of warehouse operation with lean tools to achieve the target in Safety, Cost, Deliver and Quality. (Material receipt & line feed, Material Flow Improvements, Perpetual Inventory (PIV), Recon-ciliation & audits, Space optimization)
- Analyzing the inventory pattern and ageing and comparing with targets and action plan to achieve. Maintaining the inventory as per target and reviewing on periodic intervals
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of inventory and logistics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce lead times, and improve overall logistics efficiency.
- Utilize data analytics and SAP to drive decision-making and optimize operations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies in all inventory and logistics activities.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for the team.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, logistics performance, and key metrics to senior management.
- Analyze data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and make informed decisions.
- Proven experience in inventory and logistics management, preferably in the aerospace or precision machining industry.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in SAP MM and SD modules.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with international stakeholders Preferred Skills:
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of defense industry standards and regulations.
This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of inventory and logistics processes, supporting the high standards of precision and reliability required in defense small arms manufacturing.
