Job Summary:

The CCU Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with acute cardiac conditions such as myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, heart failure, and post-cardiac procedures. The nurse is responsible for continuous monitoring, timely interventions, and collaborative care to ensure optimal recovery and safety of critically ill cardiac patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care

  2. Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to cardiac patients in critical condition.

  3. Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and report abnormalities promptly.

  4. Administer prescribed medications, including IV infusions, inotropes, anticoagulants, and emergency drugs.

  5. Assist with cardiac procedures such as thrombolysis, temporary pacing, angioplasty preparation, and post-procedure care.

  6. Provide continuous cardiac monitoring using telemetry and respond promptly to arrhythmias or emergencies.

  7. Ensure timely assessment, care planning, and documentation in patient records.

  8. Emergency Response

  9. Act promptly in life-threatening situations such as cardiac arrest or arrhythmias, performing CPR and following ACLS protocols.

  10. Prepare and operate advanced life-support equipment such as defibrillators, ventilators, and infusion pumps.

  11. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team during emergencies and codes.

  12. Communication and Collaboration

  13. Work closely with cardiologists, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.

  14. Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, progress, and post-discharge instructions.

  15. Maintain confidentiality and provide emotional support to patients and relatives.

  16. Infection Control and Safety

  17. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, maintaining aseptic techniques during all procedures.

  18. Ensure a safe environment by checking equipment functionality and reporting malfunctions promptly.

  19. Follow hospital policies for waste disposal and patient safety.

  20. Education and Training

  21. Participate in ongoing professional development and training in critical care and cardiac nursing.

  22. Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.

  23. Mentor and guide junior staff and nursing students in CCU practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution.

  • License: Valid Nursing Council registration.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 2-4years of experience in critical care or CCU preferred.

  • Fresh graduates with strong interest in cardiac critical care may be considered.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in ECG interpretation and emergency cardiac care.

  • Knowledge of ACLS/BLS protocols.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.

Work Environment:

  • Rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Exposure to critically ill patients and use of advanced life-support equipment.

  • Close collaboration with a multidisciplinary critical care team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹22,000.88 per month

License/Certification:

  • BLS, ACLS (Preferred)
