Position Description

The In-House Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for performing precise pipette calibration and maintenance as per the gravimetric method in compliance with ISO 8655 and internal quality management standards. The role ensures that all pipettes meet accuracy, precision, and traceability requirements to support laboratory quality and compliance goals.

KRA's / KPI's

  • Perform gravimetric calibration of single-channel and multi-channel pipettes (air displacement and positive displacement types).
  • Ensure calibration is performed in controlled environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, barometric pressure).
  • Follow ISO 8655 and NABL (ISO/IEC calibration standards.
  • Operate and maintain precision instruments such as analytical balances, humidity/temperature monitors, and environmental control systems.
  • Record calibration data, calculate uncertainty, and prepare calibration certificates.
  • Maintain calibration records, logs, and traceability documentation as per lab quality procedures.
  • Conduct performance verification and adjustment of pipettes if required.
  • Participate in internal quality audits and proficiency testing programs.
  • Ensure timely preventive maintenance and internal verification of calibration setups and instruments.
  • Coordinate with the QA team for periodic validation and method verification.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the calibration lab in compliance with SOPs and EHS guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Type: Full-time
