[2] Linux Device Driver Developer

Experience Band:- 4 to 7 Years

Educational Qualification:

  • B.E/M.E in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.

Role Overview:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Device Driver Developer with 4–7 years of experience in kernel-level programming and driver development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing device drivers for Linux-based platforms, ensuring performance, stability, and compliance with system requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Linux kernel device drivers for various hardware components.
  • Work on driver development, porting, and customization for embedded Linux systems.
  • Handle kernel-level debugging, memory management, and interrupt handling.
  • Develop and optimize low-level software for hardware-software integration.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate drivers with SoCs, boards, and peripherals.
  • Perform testing, debugging, and performance optimization of drivers.
  • Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with coding standards.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency in C programming and Linux kernel internals.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux device driver development (character, block, and network drivers).
  • Expertise in interrupt handling, DMA, and memory management.
  • Experience with Linux kernel build systems, cross-compilation, and debugging tools (gdb, kgdb, strace, etc.).
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, USB, etc.).
  • Good understanding of RTOS, embedded Linux, and board bring-up.
  • Strong knowledge of Git version control and collaborative development practices.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • 4–7 years of experience in Linux device driver development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional hardware-software teams.
  • Exposure to automotive, telecom, or semiconductor domains is a plus.
