Fitter (Threaded & Grooved)

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and assemble grooved piping systems using couplings, fittings, and accessories (e.g., Victaulic, Gruvlok).
• Carry out threaded pipe fabrication and installation as per requirements.
• Cut, bevel, thread, and groove pipes using appropriate tools and machines.
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and support of all piping works.
• Install fire-fighting systems (hydrant, sprinkler, standpipe) using grooved and threaded pipes.
• Support installation of plumbing lines, drain lines, and mechanical piping where applicable.
• Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and engineers for daily tasks.
• Follow issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings, instructions, and method statements.
• Assist in material handling, measuring, and marking as required.
• Conduct installations in accordance with technical specifications, NFPA standards (for fire systems), and project requirements.
• Ensure all pipe joints are tightened and installed correctly to avoid leaks.
• Support pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning activities.
• Rectify defects identified during inspections and testing.

Qualifications & Skills:

• ITI or vocational training in plumbing/mechanical pipe fitting (preferred).
• 2-4 years of experience as a pipe fitter in MEP contracting.
• Strong hands-on experience in threaded and grooved piping systems.
• Ability to understand basic drawings, markings, and pipe routing instructions.
• Skilled in using grooving machines, threading machines, pipe cutters, and hand tools.
