Senior CAD Technician

The Senior CAD Technician role will include creation and editing of drawings of engineering projects in compliance with WSP Swedish CAD Standards. As part of the Nordics Swedish business the successful candidate will sit alongside colleagues located in our Noida/Bangalore office and work closely with Sweden team colleagues based in Sweden. The core activities that the successful candidate can expect to be involved with include managing deliveries of Roads & Highways project design production; coordination and preparation of Drawings/Models, checking Drawings/Models as per the Swedish Standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for carrying out the Roads & Highways CAD design deliverables as directed by the Engineers.
• Study and educate juniors on the requirements of Swedish Highways CAD Manuals and practices.
• Review and monitor the CAD deliverables against the quality, timeline, and consistent client satisfaction.
• Report on workload, issues & risks, health & safety for the team and self timely to the LM /Team lead.
• Provide continues support on upskilling & team building by conducting training and joining meetings.
• Identify the CAD team advancement opportunities to enhance WSP Sweden/Nordics services.
• Ensure all deliverables are overseen against the WSP BMS that obtaining positive client feedback.

Technical Experience

• Minimum 6 to 8 years experience, of which at least 5 years should be in Highways drawings/production.
• Expert in AutoCAD, considered by the industry to be an expert in the field.
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D, ProjectWise, Novapoint, Navisworks, BIM collaboration is preferred.
• Experience of working collaboratively within a remote working environment.
• Experience providing manhours estimation of Highways CAD production for bidding.
• Experience in editing, running, implementing of AutoCAD Lisp routines/scripts.
• Experience of working on several projects across different regions for Roads & Highways discipline.
• Previous experience of working in Swedish/Nordics Highways projects preferred.
• Experience of working on several sized projects, as the sole CAD support and as part of a wider CAD team.
• Demonstrable experience of drawings management and project stage deliveries.
• Experience in leading a team of CAD Technicians and allocating tasks.
• Experience in CAD leadership for major highway projects on Feasibility & Detailed design stages.
• Ability to understand, explain, present, and solve complex technical problems for technical and non-technical audiences.

Role Specifics

• Understanding of Urban /Community design standards and detailing.
• Well versed with interchange commands and background between AutoCAD-Civil 3D-Other Design tools.
• Self capable to articulate the Community Design deliveries for Civils perspective.
• Ability for setting up the CAD/BIM standards and CAD libraries for the Sweden Urban/ Community Design deliveries.
• Experienced in production quality process that (QC setup, checklists, implementation and attend audit assistance).
• Well versed with developing Roads, Streets geometrics and NMUs facilities layout designing /drafting.
• Capable mentoring juniors along with coordinating assignments with the lead country managers.
• Experienced data environments i.e. SharePoint, ProjectWise and other relevant tools and data management.

• Civil Diploma/Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or recognised equivale.
