QC Executive (Plywood Factory)

Location: Perumbavoor

Industry: Plywood / Wood Panel Manufacturing

Department: Quality Control

1. Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials, in-process production, and finished plywood as per ISI/BIS standards. The role ensures production meets company quality requirements.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesRaw Material QC

  • Inspect veneer quality, moisture content, thickness, and gaps.
  • Check resin, chemical quality, and glue preparation.

In-Process QC

  • Monitor press parameters, glue spread, moisture levels, and core assembly.
  • Check core gaps, overlaps, bonding strength, and thickness uniformity.
  • Monitor sanded finish, density, and panel surface quality.

Finished Goods QC

  • Conduct tests:
  • Water resistance test
  • MOR/MOE
  • Adhesion & delamination
  • Thickness, size, and tolerance checks
  • Approve/reject finished plywood as per IS:303 / IS:710 standards.

Documentation

  • Maintain daily QC reports, test logs, and rejection sheets.
  • Report defects to production for corrective action.

Compliance

  • Follow BIS & internal quality SOPs.
  • Ensure safety and housekeeping in QC lab.

3. Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Wood Technology / BSc Forestry / Science / Engineering.
  • Experience in Plywood/Particleboard/Panel QC (preferred).
  • Knowledge of plywood defects (core gap, blistering, overlap, edge issues, delamination).
  • Basic computer skills.

4. Salary Range (Perumbavoor Market)

  • ₹13,000 – ₹22,000 per month for QC Executive.
  • Higher for experienced candidates.
