Senior Process Executive - Loan Originations Live Underwriting
Job Summary
The SPE-Loan Originations role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient processing and management of loan applications. With a focus on utilizing MS Excel for data analysis and reporting the candidate will contribute to the accuracy and timeliness of loan originations. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of underwriting processes enhancing the companys ability to serve its clients effectively.
Responsibilities
As an Underwriter you will be responsible for managing and monitoring daily workflow of your files and be an expert on agency loan guidelines and internal lender underwriting procedures. Underwriter must make sound decisions on loans regarding credit worthiness of borrowers while working closely with Retail MLOs and operations staff. A candidate applying for this job should have the below skills
Responsibilities
Analyze complete files including Borrower creditworthiness and ability to repay appraisal validity collateral valuation and worthiness title policies and property insurance.
Utilize automated underwriting systems such as Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector in order to assist in the execution of the duties and responsibilities of the role.
Compare automated underwriting to specific loan-file criteria in order to determine whether waiver or deviation from suggested guidelines may be appropriate.
Work with loan originators and production staff to acquire required documents in order to verify the income and employment details of the applicant review the applicants credit profile analyze financial statements and consider other information in order to act on loan and credit requests.
Proficient in calculating income for salaried self employed retirement and pension including other income.
Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness and determine whether additional information may be required in order to make a credit decision.
Examine and analyze assets liabilities income and debt information related to applicants in order to make a credit decision.
Prepare counteroffer proposals for customers and direct team member on acceptable standards for such proposals.
Evaluate and review appraisal reports and collateral issues related to real estate in order to determine whether it may properly support the approval of a loan application.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 4 to 6 years in live post close pre close prefund and due diligence underwriting experience for conventional and government in a retail environment.
Strong Knowledge of Revere mortgage and nonQM underwriting experience.
Strong knowledge of credit capacity capital and collateral.
Proficiency with MS Excel MS Word Desktop Underwriter Loan Prospector.
Demonstrate high volume productivity.
Must be detail oriented organized and work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Willingness to work from the office during night shifts including rotational shifts.
Certifications Required
Certified Mortgage Underwriter (CMU) or equivalent certification in underwriting.
