Role & responsibilities

  • Design and architect scalable Kafka-based data streaming platforms to support real-time data ingestion, processing, and delivery across business-critical systems.
  • Own the full lifecycle of Kafka implementations from initial design and deployment to monitoring, tuning, and support in production environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data Engineering, Application Development) to integrate Kafka with microservices, databases, and big data tools (e.g., Spark, Flink, Hadoop).
  • Lead Kafka cluster management activities, including capacity planning, partitioning strategies, replication, retention policies, and disaster recovery.
  • Develop automated monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure observability and resilience of the Kafka ecosystem.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka performance issues, message delivery failures, and consumer/producer bottlenecks.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and operational best practices.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience in enterprise-scale Kafka deployments (multi-tenant, high-throughput, real-time use cases)
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with regulatory and security compliance in data streaming environments
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives across teams
