Job Summary:

The BCM Coordinator is responsible for the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of Business Continuity Management (BCM) across PhonePe entities. This role ensures the organization's preparedness for disruptions and its ability to maintain critical business functions.The Bcm Coordinator's role is pivotal in identifying and evaluating the critical elements of the business. They conduct thorough analyses to determine how various disruptions could affect these vital components, be it operational, financial, or reputational impacts. Their work is instrumental in prioritising resources and efforts, guiding the organisation in focusing on protecting and maintaining essential functions during a crisis. They must possess keen analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's operations to accurately assess and report on potential risks and their impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the implementation of BCM across PhonePe under the direction of the reporting manager and BCM Head.
  • Identify risks and continuity threats to business and support initiatives to improve BCM.
  • Identify potential threats and risks prone to the organization that may lead to disruption and initiate improvements to the current BCM.
  • Ensure and monitor business continuity education, training, and awareness throughout PhonePe Group
  • Conduct BIAs along with Business, Engineering ,SRE and other relevant units
  • Create,Review and update Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), Risk Assessments (RAs), and BCM procedure documents periodically .
  • Review external audit reports on BCM and follow up on the status of corrective actions taken at regular intervals or at least annually.
  • Review and monitor major incident reports along with the results of any investigations carried out.
  • Conduct reviews of BCM arrangements to monitor and evaluate effectiveness, appropriateness of policy, objectives, and scope, and determine corrective/continual improvement actions.
  • Report on BCM performance to the reporting manager and BCM Head.
  • Implement, review, and monitor corrective and continual improvement actions.
  • Ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) are invoked for all affected departments/services during a disruption.
  • Ensure the BCM Head is apprised of BCP invocation/revocation status periodically.
  • Supervise business continuity specialists and implement business continuity policies and recommended practices.
  • Ensure BCM committee is held periodically and status is updated in ISMS Management review meeting .
  • Facilitating and managing internal and external audit queries on BCM on behalf of PhonePe

Post-Incident Responsibilities (after BCP invocation):

  • Conduct an After Action Review.
  • Review the nature and cause of the incident.
  • Assess the adequacy of management response.
  • Assess PhonePe's effectiveness in achieving Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Assess the adequacy of BCM arrangements in preparing employees for the incident.
  • Present the summary of the above review to the reporting manager and BCM Head.
  • Ensure that adequate documentation is maintained as required for the BCM.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of business continuity principles and practices:
    A deep understanding of how to develop, implement, and maintain effective business continuity plans.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulatory landscape:
    Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills:
    Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including senior management, employees, and external parties.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills:
    Ability to identify and assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and coordinate response efforts.
  • Project management skills:
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools:
    Experience with business continuity planning software, risk assessment tools, and reporting systems.
  • Relevant certifications:
    Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or ISO 22301 Lead Implementer required

Relevant Experience :

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in handling Business continuity Management programme in banking/FS industry /Consultancy firms .
