Role Definition
Solve challenging engineering problems involving products, systems, and components using advanced simulation techniques and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers and leadership to scope and execute projects that meet the needs of the business
- Accountable for delivering timely, high-quality simulation and analysis impacting products/processes and providing clear recommendations to stakeholders
- Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain and test to robustly deliver new products and improve validation processes
- Keep up-to-date on new technologies and drive continuous improvement to established techniques
- Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
- As a performance engineer for Caterpillar SSL/CTL machines built in India, the incumbent will have responsibility to design/modify machine linkages to meet machine performance part of NPI or current production effort.
- Evaluate through physical testing for machine specs and adjust design as necessary. Provide inputs to other engineering functions for their design finalization and machine loads.
- Release machine spec log for internal & external to CAT usage for different departments. Support in establishing machine spec records for homologation/certification according to different countries or regions of world.
- Collaborate with USA and other facility counterparts for maintaining data as per global practices.

- Uses CAD to perform basic drafting such as wire frames, solid objects and array of objects.

- Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views.
