Role Overview

Position:
Researcher – Polymer Masterbatches & Compounds

Type:
Entry-level | Full-time | On-site (Ahmedabad)

Working Hours:
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Saturday (6 days a week)

Salary:
₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month + Annual Bonus

(Exact amount will be determined based on experience and skills.)

The
Researcher
will assist the company in developing new polymer masterbatches and compounds, improving existing formulations, and supporting customer-specific projects. The role involves thorough literature study, laboratory experimentation, data recording, testing, and close coordination with production and quality teams to ensure product feasibility and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct literature studies on assigned project topics through:

• Reviewing patents, research papers, review articles, and books

• Exploring online resources (websites, brochures, videos, etc.)

• Interacting with peers and industry specialists

• Compile and present findings in a clear, structured format

• Design and schedule lab trials; be present during trials and record observations
• Develop new masterbatch and compound formulations and improve existing ones
• Identify suitable raw materials, additives, pigments, and polymers for development projects
• Assist in sample preparation, test setup, and analysis of results
• Document and maintain accurate experimental data, observations, and trial outcomes in the ERP system
• Assist in preparing technical datasheets (TDS)
• Stay updated on material innovations, market trends, and competitor developments

Mandatory Qualifications

• B.Sc. / B.E. / B.Tech. in Plastics, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field
• Sound understanding of polymers, additives, pigments, and compounding processes
• Familiarity with lab instruments such as twin-screw extruder, injection molding machine, spectrophotometer, MFI tester, and tensile tester
• Strong documentation and analytical skills
• Strong desire to work hard and learn continuously

Preferred Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in a polymer, masterbatch, or plastic compounding lab environment (freshers with strong fundamentals are welcome)

• Ability to analyze test results for:

• Rheological tests (MFI, torque rheometer, viscosity)

• Thermal tests (DSC, TGA, HDT)

• Chemical/structural tests (FTIR, SEM, TEM, XRD, elemental analysis)

• Mechanical tests (tensile, flexural, impact, hardness)

• Application-level tests such as FR (flame retardancy), UV, anti-microbial, antistatic, weathering, color fastness, and dispersion quality
