As a Principal DevOps Engineer you will serve as the technical authority and strategic

advisor for the Rally to Azure DevOps migration initiative. You will oversee the end-to-end

architectural design, data integrity, Scalability and compliance of the migration process

while mentoring teams aligning enterprise standards and ensuring minimal business

disruption.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the technical architecture and migration road map from Rally to ADO

• Drive strategic decisions on tooling, data fidelity, field mapping and process

harmonization.

• Engage with Senior stakeholders (Product, Security, infrastructure and compliance) to

align goals and timelines.

• Conduct risk management and lead resolution plans for infra, data or access related

blockers.

• Guide lead engineer and DevOps teams on technical implementation and field

transformation logic and workflow mapping.

• Own the cutover strategy including roll back plans, data validation frameworks and post

migration Hyper Care.

• Influence ADO best practices adoption across teams including boards, Queries,

Dashboards and Analytics.

• Present status, Key risks and technical insights to the program steering committee.

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications

• Deep Expertise in both Rally and Azure DevOps, especially their data models and

customization capabilities.

• Proven experience leading large scale Agile tool migration.

• Strong Proficiency with REST APIs, data pipelines and transformation logic.

• Broad technical depth across agile project managements tools, DevOps workflows,

and enterprise integrations.

• Experience with security/access models including Azure AD integration, permissions

and compliance polices.

• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, ability to bridge technical

and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Experience with enterprise-scale rollout of ADO, including CI\CD, Boards, and

portfolio management.

• Knowledge of reporting migration from Rally dashboards to ADO+Power BI.

• Exposure to regulatory environment (e.g SOX, GDPR) during tooling migrations.

• Collaborate with development teams to implement scalable and resilient

architectures for on-premises and cloud applications.

• Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and

industry standards. Knowledgeable on SDLC, unit testing frameworks

• Experience with software development tools and standards e.g. coding conventions,

best practices, design patterns as well as development methodologies e.g. waterfall,

iterative, agile

• Excellent logical/analytical, problem-solving skills and a good Team player. Should

be able to work in a team as well as an individual contributor.

• Should be willing to work in shifts when required.
