Key Responsibilities:
Design and Drafting : Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings for tooling and engineering products.
Project Management : Lead design projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, quality, etc.), ensuring timely delivery and adherence to design specifications.
Design Optimization : Continuously improve design processes by identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction while maintaining product quality.
Product Testing and Validation : Work closely with the testing team to validate prototypes and finished products, ensuring they meet design requirements.
Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, modifications, and testing procedures for future reference and compliance.
Mentorship and Training : Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers, sharing knowledge on design best practices and CAD tools.
Collaboration : Work closely with engineering teams to provide design solutions that meet client specifications and production capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education : Bachelor's degree in Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in CAD design, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership position in an engineering environment.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Pro/ENGINEER (Creo).
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and product development cycles.
Experience with 3D modeling, assembly design, and sheet metal design.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., FEA) is a plus.
