Job Title:

QA/Test Engineer – Data Migration & T-SQL (Banking Domain)

Location: Bangalore – Hybrid (2 days/week in office)

Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST

Experience Required: 5+ Years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated QA/Test Engineer with a strong background in T-SQL and experience in large-scale data migration projects within the financial services domain. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of driving testing efforts across complex banking applications and datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to design test strategies and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Create, maintain, and execute detailed test cases and scripts based on system and data requirements.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to validate both new features and existing functionality.
  • Conduct data validation testing for complex data migration and integration programs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate defect tracking tools; work closely with developers and analysts for resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and clearly communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support and contribute to test automation initiatives to improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, providing QA insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, developers, data teams) to ensure alignment on requirements and test deliverables.

Skills & Technology Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a QA/Test Analyst role, preferably in client-facing environments.
  • Strong command of T-SQL – ability to write complex queries for data selection, transformation, and validation.
  • Hands-on experience in financial services, with a preference for retail and business banking products and data models.
  • Experience in large-scale data migration and integration testing projects.
  • Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and scripting.
  • Experience with Jira Xray for test management and defect tracking.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance principles in the context of financial systems.
