Job Overview
Baltej Infra LLP is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to handle project cost estimation, tendering, billing, and contract management from our Panchkula office. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical abilities, technical knowledge, and at least 7 years of experience in the construction sector.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed estimates for civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works.
- Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from drawings, BOQs, and project specifications.
- Prepare rate analysis and evaluate market prices, supplier quotations, and SOR data.
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization proposals.
2. Tendering & Documentation
- Prepare tender documents including BOQs, technical specifications, and rate sheets.
- Review contractor/subcontractor quotations and assist in finalizing contracts.
- Support bid evaluation, negotiations, and price comparisons.
- Manage tender correspondence and maintain organized documentation.
3. Billing & Contract Management
- Prepare and verify contractor RA bills, subcontractor bills, and material reconciliation.
- Ensure proper measurement recording in coordination with site engineers.
- Monitor cost deviations and prepare periodic cost and progress reports.
- Handle contract variations, change orders, and claims in compliance with agreements.
4. Coordination & Technical Support
- Coordinate with site teams, architects, consultants, and suppliers.
- Review project drawings and revisions to ensure accurate quantities.
- Support procurement planning and provide inputs for budgeting and scheduling.
5. Quality, Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, contract terms, and industry standards.
- Maintain organized records, reports, correspondence, and approvals.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, OR
- Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
- (Additional QS or cost management certifications preferred)
Experience Required
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, estimation, and billing for construction/infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software is an advantage.
Skills Required
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Negotiation and vendor coordination abilities
