About the Role

We're looking for a highly skilled Ruby on Rails Developer to design, develop, and maintain production-grade backend systems and APIs. You'll work on performance optimization, third-party integrations, and architecture design in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails (v5+) applications and APIs.
  • Participate in architecture discussions to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Perform advanced debugging using logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Build third-party integrations (payments, ecommerce, logistics, etc.).
  • Implement monitoring & observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry.
  • Follow DDD principles, CI/CD pipelines, and code review best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and DevOps teams.

Must-Have Skills

5+ years of backend development with Ruby on Rails (v5+)

Strong understanding of MVC, RESTful APIs, ActiveRecord ORM

Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL

Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, Lightstep

Experience integrating third-party APIs / payment gateways

Familiar with Git, CI/CD workflows, and Agile methodology

Excellent written and spoken English

Good to Have

  • Background job frameworks (Sidekiq, Resque)
  • Microservices / Event-driven architecture
  • Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP experience
  • Familiarity with React/Vue for debugging
  • Knowledge of RSpec / Cucumber (TDD/BDD)

Tech Stack

Backend: Ruby on Rails, RSpec, Sidekiq

Database: PostgreSQL, Redis

CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI

Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, Lightstep

Hosting: AWS, Heroku, or GCP

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (mandatory).
  • Certifications in backend, cloud, or DevOps are a plus.
