Location – Bangalore, India

Role Description

  • The Business Analyst/ Project Manager is an agent of change with accountability for driving success over a full project or programme lifecycle. Would be responsible for shaping and defining the true business problem, opportunity and associated requirement, covering People, Process and Technology, delivering solutions that resolve the business problem and setting out impacts and risks. The BA PM designs, plans and implements projects and programmes, either standalone or as part of a larger programme, or programmes according to scope, targets and objectives set for time of delivery, budget and quality. Key accountabilities include:
    • successful project/programme delivery in line with the defined success criteria and set goals
    • effective and consistent project/programme communications and reporting to business and IT stakeholders
    • smooth change deployment and handover to operations, driving quality and compliance
    • successful adoption of the solution, ensuring appropriate roll-out strategy and engagement
    • contribution and ongoing improvement of the project management tools and methodology (as part of the project management community)

About Client Data Management (CDM)

  • Client Data Management (CDM) is responsible for provision of operational support and management of Party (Client), to facilitate KYC and enable client business and trading relationships and associated downstream processes including Regulatory and Tax obligations. CDM is driving the Group Party Data Strategy across CIB, the key elements of this strategy are:
  • Providing a single, authorized source of Party (cRDS) to all areas across Corporate and Investment Bank, that contains accurate and complete Party & Instrument Data with full coverage
  • Distributing the common Party data elements/attributes across the organization to ensure a single identifier is used front-to-back and there is consistency, alignment and common usage of Party data attributes front-to-back
  • Identify and align common Parties, and their associated common attributes, across the Group (Corporate Bank, Investment Bank, Capital Release Unit and Private Bank)

Your Key Responsibilities

Nature of Work

  • Accountable for successful project/programme delivery in line with the defined success criteria and set goals
  • Lead in the delivery and governance of projects/programmes which support and enhance business activities and IT architecture to agreed success factors and KPIs (time, cost, quality, scope, risk and budget). Evaluate and monitor these KPIs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Scope and shape projects/programmes, leading to defining an appropriate delivery approach for each. The Project Manager remains outcome-focused throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Provide professional project management expertise, consultancy and challenge to business and IT change activities, acting as a true business partner to senior business colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain a high-level integrated plan showing the big picture, to support stakeholder engagement.
  • Set, deploy and demonstrate effective governance controls around risk and issue management and escalation, with emphasis on the most significant items.
  • Manage and track budget, providing an ongoing challenge around scope and associated business case, and (when required) submit changes to the budget authorization process. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the project business case.
  • Identify and source the required resources, either external or internal, as well as monitor and manage them performance throughout the project/programme, providing corrective supervision if necessary
  • Apply and manage Agile approaches when appropriate
  • Accountable for effective and consistent communications and reporting to business and IT stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a clear stakeholder map highlighting different stakeholder needs and interaction preferences
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder vital to the success of the project or programme
  • Establish clear communication mechanisms to promote project/programme vision, direction, priorities as well as manage diverse stakeholders' expectations incl. sponsor, business representatives, suppliers. Deliver reporting, which is effective, targeted and succinct.
  • Issue appropriate level status reports that target key stakeholders needs and enable progress transparency as well as early warning of any upcoming risks and issues
  • Accountable for smooth change deployment and handover to operations, driving quality and compliance
  • Plan or coordinate and/ oversee all handover activities, actively preparing and training operational teams to take on the new solution / service
  • Engage with service and release management, or oversee this engagement to provision the necessary environments and processes to support new solution / service
  • Manage handover risks and issues, resolving any high impact and urgent issues and securing any relevant approvals to launch the transition to operations
  • Provision of necessary support to the operational team's post-handover, checking that solution performance hits the expected measures and performance indicators
  • Accountable for successful adoption of the solution, ensuring appropriate roll-out strategy and engagement
  • Provide business stakeholders with the right information that enables functional impact assessment and helps shape the right change management initiatives. Support benefits identification and management.
  • Develop and provide project/programme specific content for wider communication and engagement initiatives (working with the Internal Communications team)
  • Provision post implementation support to ensure no detrimental effect on the business as usual (floorwalking, remote support, etc.)
  • Encourage business feedback on the solution / service performance, testing it against initial requirements and expectations
  • Accountable for contribution and ongoing improvement of the project management tools and methodology (as part of the project management community)
  • Provide ongoing challenge to the IT delivery approach, improving all core aspects of the approach –incl. estimation, processes, standards and tools
  • Continuously improve project management toolkit and methodologies used across the teams
  • Provide expertise and consulting to other project managers, acting as a role model for new community joiners (if relevant)
  • Document and share lessons learnt with the wider community, providing briefing sessions on specific areas of interest / expertise

  • Stakeholder relationship management ranges from immediate business representatives and project team through to complex engagement with executive level stakeholders in diverse functions of the organization
  • Vendor management: ranges from no vendor management responsibilities through to management of multivendor teams across project or programme activities
  • Project complexity and scale: ranges from small, low complexity projects with limited dependencies and cross-functional impact through to large, high complexity projects or programmes that have multi-functional impact and a wide range of key dependencies on other programmes and projects
  • Team leadership: ranges from small internal teams to large, matrix, internal and external teams.
  • Ensure that controls are sufficiently well designed and operating effectively to keep the risks that they mitigate within organization's tolerance level
  • Report and escalate the status of the relevant risks, controls and standards as appropriate Resource Complexity
    • Accountable for working within policy and guidelines, applying technical knowledge and expertise and prioritizing our own and your teams use of time to maximize efficient use of resources.
    • Accountable for managing internal and external resources working on the project/programme, including other project managers; number and extent of resources will vary depending on the seniority. This will include setting clear timelines and milestones, co-shaping the deliverables, resolving conflicts and dependencies, monitoring and managing risks and issues
    • Leaders are accountable for motivating the team, coaching others, developing the capability of their team and their people and for driving the culture of the organization

Your skills and experience

  • Relevant experience in Business Analysis and Project Management (Transformation / Change Management preferably), status reporting and plan documentation
  • Ability to work with MS PowerPoint, Excel and Project
  • Strong communications skills and well-developed team collaboration experience
  • Strong knowledge of project management processes, governance, and status tracking
