Maersk is on multi-year program to revamp its technology and digital solutions footprint and as part of new strategy, SAP will act as the 'digital core' for company's finance and tax processes enabled by SAP's latest cloud and S4HANA offerings. SAP engineering team owns solution template, design, configuration, development, testing and deployment of the SAP solution in Maersk Ocean & Logistics. Derivation plays a critical role in configuring and optimizing tax processes within the
Financial Accounting (FI)
module of SAP. This ensures tax compliance across jurisdictions, automates invoicing and reporting, and integrates tax engines and authority interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• E-Invoicing: Configure e-invoicing solutions (SAP Document Compliance, Peppol, CFDI) for automated invoice submission, ensuring compliance with country mandates (e.g., GST, EU VAT) and integrating with tax engine ONESOURCE.
• SAF-T Reporting: Configure and automate SAF-T for various jurisdictions, ensuring accurate and timely tax submissions in line with local regulations.
• Indirect Tax Derivation (ITX): Configure VAT, GST, and withholding tax rules within SAP for accurate tax calculation. Maintain tax jurisdiction codes and integrate indirect tax engines to minimize manual errors.
• Cross-Module Integration: Ensure smooth integration between SAP FI, MM, and SD, working with SAP VIM and OpenText for seamless tax validation in PTP and OTC cycles.
• Tax Authority Integration: Develop interfaces for submitting tax reports and e-invoices to local tax authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• DevOps Environment: Candidate has to work in DevOps work environment
• Automation & Process Optimization: Automate tax calculations, invoice validation, and compliance checks, streamlining workflows for improved efficiency.
• Audit & Compliance: Maintain audit trails and ensure compliance with evolving tax laws, particularly for e-invoicing and SAF-T reporting.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct tests, address tax-related issues, and troubleshoot invoicing or submission discrepancies.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with cross-functional teams and external consultants to ensure accurate interpretation of tax regulations.

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master's Degree in Taxation, Finance, or Business Administration (optional but beneficial).

SAP Certifications (Preferred):

• SAP FI certification
• SAP Document Compliance certifications related to e-invoicing would be a plus

Experience:

• 5–8 years in SAP, with 3-5 years focused on tax processes in the FI module (e.g., e-invoicing, SAF-T, ITX derivation).
• E-Invoicing: Hands-on experience configuring solutions like SAP Document Compliance, Peppol, and integrating with tax engine ONESOURCE
• SAF-T Reporting: Experience with SAF-T configuration, automation, and compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Indirect Tax (ITX) Derivation: Expertise in VAT, GST, and withholding taxes, with experience in tax determination rules and indirect tax engine integration.
• Cross-Module Integration: Experience working in Integration with SAP MM, and SD modules
• Tax Authority Integration & Compliance: Experience with real-time submissions to tax authorities and managing tax-related queries.
• Automation & Process Optimization: Proven track record of automating tax processes and optimizing workflows for better compliance and efficiency.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in e-invoicing, SAF-T reporting, and ITX derivation.
• Strong knowledge of SAP FI, integration with MM/SD modules, and third-party tax engines.
• Experience in tax authority integration, real-time submissions, and tax compliance management.
• Ability to automate tax workflows for improved accuracy and efficiency.
