As a Data Architect with Kyndryl, you will play a vital role in managing all aspects of data and information, from understanding business requirements to translating them into data models scheme design and data architectures. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Plan, design, and execute the migration of IBM DB2 databases from legacy mainframe environments (z/OS) to modern platforms, including cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) or distributed systems.
  • Analyze existing DB2 database schemas, data structures, stored procedures, triggers, and batch processes to define migration strategy.
  • Evaluate and select tools and techniques for database migration, including ETL tools, replication engines, and modernization accelerators.
  • Perform data profiling, data cleansing, and data transformation to ensure integrity and consistency during migration.
  • Develop and validate test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing of migrated databases.
  • Collaborate with application developers, architects, and business analysts to ensure applications continue to function seamlessly post-migration.
  • Support performance tuning and optimization of DB2 databases in the new target environment.
  • Document migration processes, data mapping, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues, providing timely solutions to maintain project timelines.
  • Establish best practices for DB2 modernization, data management, and ongoing database operations.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • •Experience working with cloud based data platforms, data integration and governance framework with one of the three cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Security, or a related field
