We're Hiring: Senior Fashion Merchandiser | Shailendar Traders

Shailendar Traders is a leading export house working with global fashion brands to deliver high-quality garments that meet international standards. We are looking for a Senior Fashion Merchandiser to join our team and oversee product development, production, and buyer coordination, ensuring that our collections are trend-right, cost-effective, and delivered on time.

What You'll Do


• Lead seasonal range planning in alignment with buyer requirements and global fashion trends.


• Collaborate with design and development teams on fabrics, trims, colors, and silhouettes.


• Forecast demand, analyze past sales, and develop commercially viable assortments.


• Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships, including price negotiations and quality assurance.


• Oversee the end-to-end production cycle: fabric sourcing, sampling, approvals, bulk production, inspections, and shipments.


• Approve prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production samples before bulk production.


• Ensure strict compliance with buyer quality standards, AQL levels, and international testing requirements.


• Prepare cost sheets and ensure profitability targets are met.


• Monitor inventory, production lead times, and logistics for timely deliveries.


• Act as the key point of contact for international buyers, providing updates and managing approvals.


• Analyze product and sales performance to guide future development.


• Mentor and manage junior merchandisers to ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For


• 5+ years of experience in fashion merchandising, ideally with an export house or international buyers.


• Strong technical knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, dyeing, printing, washing, and finishing.


• Proven experience in managing production timelines, costing, and vendor relations.


• Excellent knowledge of quality standards and compliance for global markets.


• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.


• Ability to balance creativity with commercial objectives.


• Leadership skills with experience guiding a team.
