Adhikaarpath Foundation is a Delhi-based non-profit legal aid organization dedicated to closing the justice gap for marginalized, underrepresented, and vulnerable communities across India. We strive to ensure every individual has access to legal information, representation, and systemic support regardless of socio-economic status. Our flagship initiative, Project Jail Se Nyay, offers end-to-end legal assistance to incarcerated individuals through direct jail visits and legal counseling. We also leverage technology with our Digital Legal Assistance Program to provide real-time legal guidance and maintain transparent communication. Adhikaarpath engages in strategic litigation, PILs, and collaborative advocacy to recommend policy reforms and strengthen the legal aid framework.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate, located in Delhi, India. The Associate will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to marginalized communities, managing legal cases, conducting jail visits, and offering legal counseling to inmates. The role also includes documenting case progress, maintaining client communication, and collaborating with partner NGOs for rehabilitation and reintegration services. Additionally, the Associate will be involved in strategic litigation, policy advocacy, and contributing to the organization's technology-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Legal counsel, Court representation, and Criminal process management skills
  • Case documentation and Client communication skills
  • Experience in conducting Jail visits and Legal counseling
  • Strategic litigation, Public Interest Litigation (PIL), and Advocacy skills
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology for legal assistance and communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently on-site
  • Experience with non-profits or legal aid organizations is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or related field
