Job Description Fireman

DUTIES OF FIREMAN:

  1. To attend fire and other emergency call.
  2. To be well acquainted with all the information regarding water facilities, communication, topography, and fire risks in the plant premises & jurisdictions.
  3. To keep the station premises and station appliances neat and clean and keep the fire and rescue appliances and other equipment's in good working condition.
  4. To carry out duties that may be assigned to him by GIL.
  5. To remain alert while on duty all the time and not to leave the place of duty assigned by the superiors without prior permission / reliever.
  6. Required to maintain fire control equipment in good working condition and measures at your department / section.
  7. Required to regularly impart awareness to contractor / GIL employees on fire prevention, protection & emergency preparedness.
  8. To assist the Driver operator / Leading fireman and superiors in proper maintenance of the brigade appliances and equipment's.

  9. He shall be responsible for –

  10. To guard all the properties, fixtures fittings of the entire station premises.

  11. To see that no unauthorized persons enter the station premises.
  12. To remain alert all the time while room duty.

  13. d) Control the movement of the brigade vehicles while attending and returning from emergency and other run calls ovoid accidents.

  14. Any other duties that may be assigned by the superiors in addition to duties specified above.

  15. Required to inform & Monthly Report for your department / section highlighting the following:
  16. Status on fire control measures
  17. Operational status of Fire Extinguishers and other Fire Fighting Equipment
  18. Operational status of Emergency Exits and Escape / Emergency Lighting
  19. Operational condition of fireproof doors

Qualifications:

  • One year fire Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire safety
  • Depth knowledge in fire safety
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, power points etc.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
