Role Overview
The ABOR Functional Tester will be responsible for validating the functionality, accuracy, and integrity of the Accounting Book of Record system used in investment accounting and fund administration. The role involves creating and executing functional test cases, validating data flows between upstream and downstream systems, and ensuring compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

Work Involved

  • Understand business requirements and use cases to validate UAT, working in coordination with existing BAU vendor applications and the Data team.
  • Conduct end-to-end business process testing across the full testing lifecycle

Skills

  • Strong understanding of business process workflows
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation and reconciliation (experience with Databricks preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Manual Testing (Automation experience is an added advantage)

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand ABOR processes including NAV calculation, portfolio accounting, general ledger posting, reconciliation, and corporate actions.
  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to design detailed test scenarios and scripts.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for ABOR enhancements and releases.
  • Validate data consistency across ABOR and related systems (IBOR, fund accounting, reporting tools, data warehouse).
  • Perform test data setup for various instruments (equities, bonds, derivatives, FX, etc.) and validate accounting treatments.
  • Log, track, and retest defects, ensuring resolution in line with agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and operations teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Support migration testing, reconciliation testing, and parallel run validation during platform upgrades or system transitions.
  • Provide clear reporting of test progress, metrics, and risks to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of investment accounting, fund administration, and ABOR processes.
  • Experience in functional testing within capital markets / asset management domain.
  • Knowledge of NAV calculation, cash & position reconciliation, and corporate actions processing.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation and reconciliation testing. Databricks experience will also be useful.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard ABOR/IBOR platforms (Eagle, CRD/Crims, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with defect management and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, qTest).
  • Ability to interpret accounting entries and validate financial reporting outputs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Agile Tool – ADO.
