AWS Quicksight Engineer

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced
AWS QuickSight Engineer
to join our team and drive the development and optimization of our cloud-based business intelligence (BI) reporting platform. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining visually compelling dashboards and reports that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on creating scalable data visualizations and integrating AWS-native services to surface insights at scale.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using AWS QuickSight
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective visual solutions
• Integrate QuickSight with AWS services like Athena, Redshift, RDS, S3, and Glue for real-time and batch data reporting
• Optimize SPICE datasets for performance and cost-efficiency
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and dataset-level access control to ensure secure data sharing
• Monitor QuickSight usage, performance, and costs, and suggest improvements
• Automate dashboard/report generation and refresh cycles via CI/CD pipelines and CloudFormation/CDK
• Stay updated with the latest AWS analytics capabilities and incorporate them into our BI strategy

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building dashboards and reports with AWS QuickSight
• Strong understanding of data visualization best practices
• Proficiency in SQL, with experience querying large datasets via Athena, Redshift, or RDS
• Experience in Amazon SPICE, QuickSight APIs, and embedding dashboards in applications (if needed)
• Familiarity with AWS data services: Glue, Lambda, S3, Lake Formation, Redshift, Athena
• Working knowledge of IAM, security policies, and cost controls related to analytics services
• Experience working with BI stakeholders across product, marketing, and finance
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with embedding QuickSight dashboards in external web applications
• Familiarity with data governance practices, including data quality, lineage, and classification
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or AWS CDK) for QuickSight resource management
• Certification in AWS Analytics or AWS Data Analytics Specialty is a plus
