SAP SDM (SAP Basis & Solution Manager) The SAP SDM (SAP Basis & Solution Manager) plays a crucial role in the management and optimization of SAP environments within an organization. This position combines technical expertise with project management skills to ensure seamless operations and performance enhancements of SAP systems. The SAP SDM is responsible for overseeing the SAP landscape, managing upgrades, and ensuring that solutions align with business needs and goals. This role fosters collaboration between IT and various business units to maximize the effectiveness of SAP applications while minimizing downtime and risk. In addition to technical responsibilities, the SAP SDM may also reassure the team by training them on new tools and methodologies, promoting best practices within the organization. With a focus on continuous improvement, the SAP SDM is essential for driving innovation and maintaining an agile IT landscape that supports business objectives. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain SAP Basis landscape, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Administer SAP Solution Manager, including configuration and monitoring.
  • Oversee SAP system upgrades and patches following best practices.
  • Implement database management and performance tuning strategies.
  • Conduct regular system monitoring and troubleshooting for SAP systems.
  • Coordinate SAP installations and migrations to ensure smooth operation.
  • Provide technical support to resolve complex system issues.
  • Collaborate with different departments to align SAP capabilities with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system architecture and operation.
  • Train and mentor staff on SAP tools and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Manage user access and security roles within the SAP environment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for support and software procurement.
  • Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning for SAP systems.
  • Stay updated on SAP technology advancements and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration and Solution Manager.
  • Strong understanding of SAP architecture and database systems.
  • Proven experience in system monitoring and optimization techniques.
  • Technical certification in SAP Basis or Solution Manager preferred.
  • Experience with SAP HANA and other cloud solutions is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP security and user administration best practices.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with ITIL framework and service management.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
