Controls & Automation Engineering Specialist ( Hardware and Drives)

The role involves executing motion drives and controls hardware engineering activities from India for the North America Region CARE (Conveyor Automation Robotic Engineering) team.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with global counterparts to understand technical requirements related to VFDs, servo drives, motor starters, and electrical hardware components.
- Design and develop electrical schematics using ECAD tools (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical).
- Engineer and size drive solutions for various mechanical applications, including motor and resistor sizing.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot drives from Rockwell, Siemens, Lenze, SEW, and ABB.
- Ensure compliance with North American electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements (STO, SIL3, PLd).
- Design Ethernet/IP communication networks, power distribution (480VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC), and control circuits.
- Create and manage templates for electrical schematics, VFDs, and servo drives.
- Develop and refine hardware and drive specifications to support virtual commissioning.
- Collaborate with project and service teams for implementation, validation, and maintenance.
Key Skills & Expertise
- Strong knowledge of VFD and Servo Drive systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Lenze, SEW, ABB).
- Proficiency in industrial control components, Logix5000 platforms, and electrical design.
- Hands-on experience in drive commissioning and configuration.
- Expertise in ECAD software (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical).
- Knowledge of power and grounding systems, pneumatic circuits, and robot interfaces.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Software Skills
- Rockwell PLC & HMI platforms
- Drive sizing tools
- MS Office (Power BI added advantage)
- ECAD tools (EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical)
Qualification & Experience
- Education: Diploma or Engineering Graduate (Electrical / Electronics / Automation).
- Experience: 5- 9 years with Line Builders, OEMs, or Service Providers in relevant domains.
Preferred Certifications
- TV certification in functional safety (desirable).
- Rockwell Automation certified training (preferred).

- Willingness to work in North America and Europe time zones.
- Flexibility to work shifts, extended hours, and weekends when needed.
- Strong project management, teamwork, and supervision skills.
