Role Summary

The L1 Network Engineer is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing first-level support for the organization's network infrastructure. The role involves assisting senior engineers, resolving basic network issues, and ensuring smooth network operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Network Monitoring & Support

  • Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar monitoring systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic network issues related to LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN.
  • Provide L1 support for routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.

2. Incident & Service Request Handling

  • Respond to tickets (L1 category) within defined SLAs.
  • Perform initial diagnosis and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams.
  • Maintain proper documentation of incidents and resolutions.

3. Network Configuration & Maintenance

  • Assist in basic configuration of routers, switches, and network devices under supervision.
  • Support daily network maintenance activities such as patching and updates.

4. User Support

  • Provide support for network connectivity issues to end users.
  • Troubleshoot IP issues, DNS, DHCP, and basic routing problems.
  • Support Wi-Fi configuration for users and devices.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain network logs, asset inventory, and configuration records.
  • Prepare daily/weekly status reports and share with the IT team.

Technical Skills Required

  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLAN, Routing & Switching.
  • Knowledge of basic firewall concepts and VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches (CCNA-level knowledge).
  • Basic understanding of network security best practices.
  • Ability to use ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice, etc.).

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in shifts (if applicable).
  • Proactive, quick learner, and team player.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CCNA (Mandatory or Preferred depending on company policy)
  • Additional certifications like CompTIA Network+ will be an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month
