Role Description

• As a Senior Engineer – Information Security (AVP), you will lead the design, implementation, and validation of advanced data governance and information protection frameworks using Microsoft Purview.
• Your expertise will ensure the secure management, classification, and compliance of the bank's information assets across its global digital ecosystem.
• In this strategic engineering role, you will serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor, aligning information security architecture with enterprise risk, compliance, and regulatory mandates.
• You will enable secure data usage, ensure regulatory adherence, and enhance the organization's resilience against data loss, unauthorized disclosure, and cyber threats.
• This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise, regulatory insight, and solution engineering acumen, combined with the ability to influence architectural decisions and drive adoption across diverse technology and business domains.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and optimize Microsoft Purview solutions to deliver end-to-end data governance and protection across structured and unstructured data assets.
• Define and operationalize data classification, labeling, and sensitivity frameworks, ensuring alignment with enterprise data protection standards and regulatory obligations.
• Design and integrate Purview within the enterprise ecosystem, collaborating closely with security architects, data engineers, and compliance stakeholders to ensure seamless interoperability with Azure and on-premise platforms.
• Develop and execute rigorous validation frameworks (unit, integration, regression) to ensure that Purview configurations, workflows, and policy enforcement mechanisms perform reliably and securely.
• Automate governance operations using PowerShell, Python, and Azure Logic Apps to improve scalability, auditability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead monitoring and optimization initiatives for data scanning, classification precision, and policy enforcement metrics—leveraging analytics to drive proactive improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to scanning failures, misconfigurations, or policy deviations, ensuring uninterrupted governance services.
• Support audit, compliance, and regulatory reporting through Purview dashboards, lineage insights, and control attestations.
• Establish and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, governance workflows, and control models to ensure audit transparency and knowledge continuity.
• Champion best practices in data security and governance by mentoring teams, conducting knowledge sessions, and contributing to enterprise-wide security standards and playbooks.

Your Skills And Experience

• Demonstrated mastery in Microsoft Purview implementation, configuration, and administration within large, complex enterprises.
• Strong understanding of data security architecture, cloud governance, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, SOX, Basel III, and related financial regulatory standards).
• Expertise in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Azure Logic Apps) to enhance governance efficiency and reliability.
• Experience integrating Purview with Azure, Microsoft 365, and enterprise data protection tools to enable end-to-end visibility and control.
• Proven track record of engineering secure, scalable, and compliant data governance solutions in regulated industries, preferably financial services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex data protection issues in hybrid environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and translating technical insights into business impact.
• Expertise in designing and implementing data security frameworks and architectures (e.g., DLP, DSPM, unstructured data discovery/classification, encryption, tokenization).
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies
• Experience in mentoring teams and guiding architectural decisions across multidisciplinary projects.

• Preferred Certifications:

• CISM – Certified Information Security Manager

• CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional

• PMP – Project Management Professional

• Experience Range: 15-21 years in information security engineering, data governance, or cloud security, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or senior engineering capacity.
