About the Role

We're looking for a 
Senior Security Threat Researcher
 who's excited to push the boundaries of database security. In this role, you'll transform raw data intelligence into actionable threat insights, uncover advanced exploitation techniques, and craft detection mechanisms that stop attackers in their tracks.

What You'll Do

  • Hunt for 
    emerging database threats and attack vectors
     in complex, modern data environments.
  • Conduct 
    deep-dive research
     into exploitation techniques and build cutting-edge detection signatures.
  • Develop 
    IoCs and rules optimized for eBPF-based monitoring
    .
  • Create logic to spot 
    suspicious access patterns, privilege escalation, and data exfiltration
    .
  • Publish 
    threat intelligence reports
     that empower enterprises to stay ahead of attackers.
  • Collaborate with 
    engineering & product teams
     to supercharge Aurva's security capabilities.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years
     in cybersecurity, threat research, or database security.
  • Mastery of 
    database exploitation, access patterns, and privilege escalation
    .
  • Strong coding skills in 
    Python, SQL, Go, C/C++
    .
  • Experience with 
    eBPF
     or similar monitoring tech (huge plus).
  • Expertise in 
    MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
    , and cloud-native DB security (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with 
    vulnerability research, SIEM, DAM, DLP, and threat intelligence tools
    .
  • Knowledge of 
    data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, DPDP)
    .

Bonus points for:
 Industry certifications (CISSP, GCTI, GREM, CEH), kernel-level monitoring experience, and previous threat intel research at scale.
