Facilities Associate

Description
Supports a facility through management of projects and contracts related to maintenance and improvement of electrical, structural, and mechanical systems. Coordinates facilities changes and improvements; maintains relationships with various suppliers and vendors of services provided to the facility; communicates changes and improvements to affected facility occupants. Performs activities under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
Coordinates and manages projects with the site management leaders, including the plant managers.
Develops project requirements based on the needs of the facility, including space allocations, infrastructural needs, etc.
Ensures that projects and facilities meet state and local building codes.
Coordinates real estate project and construction project implementation.
Initiates communication to consult with electrical, structural, mechanical contract engineers to develop construction projects.
Oversees construction and facility projects including design development, contractors, project pricing, planning, scheduling, ordering and tracking. Works with corporate indirect purchasing to understand supplier base, consolidate suppliers, put appropriate contacts into place, and negotiate cost reductions with suppliers to the facility. Compiles documentation, and reporting budgets for approval process; creates and writes purchase orders; approves payment of invoices.
Ensures maintenance programs are safe and effective for the facilities and building systems.
Performs problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management and hands-on applications.
Directs the work of the facilities associate as needed to ensure updates to the building drawings.
Manages own work and maintains a flexible schedule in order to meet the demands of priority work.
Participates in improvement processes; actively participates in self-and team audits and resulting process improvements.
