Role Description Role Summary

As the .NET Architect for AWS, you will serve as a technical leader and architecture owner for key applications and services built using Microsoft .NET technologies and AWS cloud native services. You will partner with enterprise architecture, product owners, engineering teams, operations, security, and DevOps to define and drive strategy, architecture patterns, standards, and solutions. You will ensure the alignment of solutions to business goals, technical excellence, maintainability, security, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development and deployment of large-scale, high-availability applications built with .NET / C#, and AWS services (such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, Aurora, EKS, ECS, etc.).
• Define and promote architecture standards, design patterns, reference architectures (especially microservices, event-driven, API-first, domain-driven design) for .NET AWS solutions.
• Architect cloud-native/migration strategies: working with on-premises .NET applications and migrating or refactoring for AWS, hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Collaborate across engineering, security, operations, data, DevOps/SRE to ensure seamless, automated deployment and operation of services (Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring/observability, SRE practices).
• Act as a technical advisor to product and business stakeholders: translate business requirements into architecture solutions; provide cost, performance, scalability, security trade-offs.
• Provide governance: review solution designs, code artefacts, uphold architecture standards, participate in architecture councils.
• Mentor senior engineers, guide architects and developers on best practices, review design/code, influence the technical roadmap.
• Lead non-functional requirements: capacity planning, scalability, availability, performance, disaster recovery, security, regulatory/compliance (given financial services domain) considerations.
• Stay current with cloud, .NET, emerging technologies; drive adoption of new frameworks, services, tools to enable faster, more efficient delivery.

Technical Skills Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 10 years of experience in software engineering/architecture, preferably within large scale enterprise environments (financial services a plus).
• Strong background in Microsoft .NET (C#, .NET Core/.NET 5 , frameworks, libraries), with architecture and design experience of service-oriented/microservices systems.
• Proven experience in AWS cloud services and architecture: designing and building solutions using AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora, EKS/ECS, etc). Familiar with AWS Well-Architected Framework and AWS Landing Zone / multi-account architecture.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS) and DevOps practices.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, AWS Kinesis) is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of database systems SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL (where applicable), data modelling, performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills (both technical and non-technical), ability to present architecture to senior leadership and collaborate with cross functional teams.
• Deep understanding of non-functional architecture concerns: scalability, availability, fault-tolerance, security (especially in regulated financial services) and cost optimization.

Nice-to-have skills Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• AWS Certification(s) (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional).
• Experience in financial services, wealth management, trading systems, or similar domain.
• Experience migrating legacy .NET monoliths into microservices/cloud, or modernizing on-prem systems.
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, AWS CloudWatch), FinOps cost monitoring.
• Experience with domain-driven design (DDD), API lifecycle management, service mesh, distributed systems.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), SAFe; experience in architecture governance/road-mapping.
