  • Understanding shrinkage, flow behavior, filler effects, and moisture absorption
  • Injection, compression, transfer, and blow molding process knowledge
  • Setting and monitoring molding parameters (temperature, pressure, injection speed, cooling time)
  • Process capability understanding (Cp, Cpk)
  • Defect analysis (flash, short shot, sink mark, warpage, burn mark, weld line, silver streak)
  • Root cause analysis using 5Why and Fishbone
  • Dimensional and visual inspection using Vernier, micrometer, profile projector, and gauges
  • Visual inspection for color variation, surface defects, and warpage
  • First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Documentation: PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow Diagram
  • Material testing and certification (MFI, tensile, impact, hardness)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
  • Part testing and validation (drop, fitment, environmental, and aging tests)
  • Use of color and gloss meter, MFI tester, and moisture analyzer


QA Skills in Metal Part Manufacturing

  • Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, grades, and hardness requirements
  • Familiar with fabrication processes (stamping, machining, casting, welding, bending, powder coating)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Use of CMM, height gauge, micrometer, surface roughness tester, etc.
  • Understanding of surface and coating quality standards (welding, painting, anodizing, plating)
  • Salt spray test, adhesion test, and coating thickness measurement
  • Process capability and control chart (SPC) understanding
  • Fixture calibration and periodic inspection
  • In-process inspection check sheets preparation
  • Defect handling (burrs, rust, cracks, dents, warpage, welding defects)
  • Root cause analysis and CAPA implementation
  • Documentation: Control Plan, PFMEA, Inspection Reports, MTC (Mill Test Certificates)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and ISO 3834 (for welding)
