Overview

As a Principal Associate in Capital Ones Retail Banks Risk Office, you will apply your risk management, analytical, and delivery skills to our profile risk mitigation programs. You will partner across Retail Bank to develop and support business resilience solutions that support innovation and protect our customers, shareholders, and associates. You will collaborate with peers and senior leaders, as well as the second and third lines of defense, to drive risk reduction in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are welcomed and rewarded.

Retail Bank Risk professionals are experienced, well-trained, and progressive individuals that operate within a highly collaborative team environment to deliver value-added risk services to our business partners. The Principal Associate candidate will be a highly motivated Risk Management professional with excellent collaboration, judgment, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. You will help drive adherence to Capital Ones business continuity, resilience, and risk management requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Provide risk guidance and expertise to drive Business Continuity Management and Resilience efforts across Retail Bank.
• Support all facets of Business Continuity activities to gain assurance that resilient strategies are in place and adequately tested.
• Execute and help mature Retail Banks business continuity and resilience programs through the identification of process improvements that result in efficiencies and sustainability and that demonstrate adherence to Enterprise Business Continuity Standard and Policy.
• Assist with the identification, tracking, and mitigation/remediation of all aspects of Business Continuity & Resilience Management through controls, risks, and issues.
• Collaboratively partner with other Line of Business Risk offices, 2nd Line Risk Management functions, and other appropriate stakeholders and partners to identify and mitigate business continuity risk and drive results.
• Assist with development, delivery, and support of data analytics regarding Retail Banks risk management practices, outcomes, and trends to drive action.
• Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines.
• Provide Audit and Exam management support.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• At least 3 years of risk management or compliance experience.
• At least 2 years of Business Continuity or Technical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal clients around problem-solving.
• At least 2 years of Project Management experience.
• At least 1 year of experience using Google Suite products.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or Military experience.
• 5 years of Risk Management experience.
• 4 years of Business Continuity or Technical experience.
• 2 years of complex data analysis and reporting.
• ABCP or CBCP Certification.

Salary Information:

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

• McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Risk Specialist
• Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Risk Specialist

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
