Computer Science Trainer

We re looking for a Computer Science Educator and Trainer to join our team in Telangana, who will plan, coordinate and deliver state training and educator development activities, and will also work closely with the State team and curriculum team in India to support and grow the Foundation s work in computing curriculum development and related teaching and learning activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach the Raspberry Pi Foundations Computing Curriculum to the learners of the degree college by following the pedagogical principles laid out in the content
• Deliver and evaluate teacher training and ongoing capacity building sessions throughout Telangana, including face-to-face training, online webinars, and College visits to observe lessons and have coaching conversations.
• Plan and manage the logistics of educator training and local programmes in collaboration with colleagues, including scouting for and interfacing with venues, securing equipment and supplies, and conducting pre-event checks.
• Nurture and support the educator community through being the point of contact for enquiries and sharing learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of computing education courses and programmes for Telangana, and ensure that best practice is shared across the Foundation.
• Support the planning and execution of partner onboarding for state-level projects and partnerships including the computing teacher needs assessment, nomination and selection process.
• Ensure all partners local trainers understand and adhere to the partnership agreement terms, including training standards and safeguarding requirements
• Build relationships with key government stakeholders to support the adoption of our work in the state
• Represent the Raspberry Pi Foundation to external audiences, including writing blog posts and magazine articles, attending outreach events, and leading workshops when required.

• Substantial teaching experience in higher education, delivering lectures, seminars, tutorials, course assessments, and student feedback
• Experience of designing and delivering effective and engaging training and training of trainers, ideally with a specialism in computing education or a related field for college lecturers.
• Bachelor s degree or higher in the STEM field. A qualification in teaching is preferable.
• Experience giving formative feedback, advising on pedagogy, and helping lecturers implement improvements. Proven track record in on site mentoring and lesson observations and post-training follow-up.
• Understanding of course design, aligning content with higher education outcomes and inclusive pedagogy.
• Familiarity with online learning experiences and products, with an understanding of how technology is changing learning preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of how the formal education systems work in Telangana, including curriculum and teacher training requirements and delivery methods
• Substantial project and programme management experience, including supporting delivery of large-scale, complex projects and monitoring and evaluation.
• Ability to engage with and manage critical on-ground government stakeholders during programme implementation work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in Telugu.
• A collaborative, flexible, and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and complexity.
• Good data, analytical, and reporting skills, and the ability to use data effectively to improve what we do.
• Preferably, experience of working in international organisations.
• Comfort with regular travel to Colleges in different parts of the state for meetings, training sessions, and support to teachers in effective implementation of the curriculum and audits.
