Engages with client decision-makers and buyers to understand business, technical and other requirements. Engages internally with DN technical, product and service delivery stakeholders to develop client-focused solutions and proposals. Crafts compelling, valuable solutions and presents to key customers to drive revenue in new accounts and expand DN's presence within the existing customer base. Contributes to successful project delivery by supporting initial project setup, developing technical specifications and addressing / resolving complex issues. Collaborates across IT, other technical, product, operations and relevant stakeholders to define architectural standards and ensure their understanding and application.

Responsibilities
Database Architecture & Design

• Partner with Product management and Application teams to design and implement OLTP and analytical database solutions optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop efficient data models, ensuring normalization and denormalization based on workload requirements.
• Establish best practices for indexing, partitioning, and materialized views to optimize performance.
• Lead database schema evolution and version control strategies.
• Design and implement multi-tenant database architectures, ensuring data isolation, security, and scalability.
• Architect and implement database replication strategies for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Design and maintain active-active and active-passive database configurations for high availability and load balancing.

Performance Tuning & Optimization

• Conduct deep-dive query optimization using execution plans, indexing strategies, and caching techniques.
• Tune databases for high-performance transaction processing, ensuring low latency.
• Implement resource management strategies to optimize CPU, memory, and disk utilization.
• Proactively monitor database health and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Database Administration (Oracle & PostgreSQL)

• Install, configure, and manage Oracle and PostgreSQL databases on licensed and cloud platforms.
• Implement backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Ensure security, access controls, and compliance with industry standards.
• Support database migration and upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Manage multi-tenant database strategies, such as schema-based, database-based, or hybrid approaches.
• Configure and manage database replication using technologies like Logical Replication, Streaming Replication, Oracle GoldenGate, and PgBouncer.
• Architect and maintain active-active clusters for real-time synchronization and zero-downtime operations.

Collaboration & Data Engineering (Preferred Skills)

• Work closely with data engineers to design efficient ETL pipelines and support big data processing.
• Ensure seamless data movement and transformation across OLTP and analytical environments.
• Support cloud-based and hybrid data architecture initiatives (AWS RDS, GCP, Azure).

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• 13+ years of experience in database architecture and design.
• Expertise in OLTP and analytic database design principles.
• Strong skills in SQL performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration.
• Deep understanding of partitioning, materialized views, and caching techniques.
• Experience in designing and implementing multi-tenant databases.
• Proficiency in database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience with database replication techniques (e.g., Oracle GoldenGate, Logical Replication, Streaming Replication).
• Experience in designing and maintaining active-active database architectures for high availability.
• Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering and ETL pipelines (Airflow, Apache Kafka)
• Knowledge of big data technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks)
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
