Role Overview:

As an Android TV App Developer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining Android TV applications. You'll work closely with designers and backend engineers to create smooth, high-performance, and visually appealing user experiences for smart TVs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Android TV applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Implement custom TV interfaces using the Leanback library and Android TV design guidelines.
  • Integrate media playback (ExoPlayer), streaming APIs, and third-party services.
  • Optimize performance for large screens and DPAD navigation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for app enhancements and feature rollouts.
  • Debug, test, and deploy Android TV applications across different devices.

Required Skills:

  • 2–6 years of hands-on experience in Android app development.
  • Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, and Android Studio.
  • Experience with Android TV SDK, Leanback, ExoPlayer, and MediaSession.
  • Familiarity with MVVM/MVP architecture and Jetpack components.
  • Good understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and networking libraries.
  • Experience in app debugging, performance tuning, and memory optimization.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with OTT/Streaming platforms (e.g., Netflix, Hotstar, etc.).
  • Knowledge of DRM/Widevine, Firebase, and Crashlytics.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
  • Familiarity with voice search integration and TIF (TV Input Framework).

Education:

B.Tech / B.E. / MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field.
