Position Description:

Deque is searching for an Accessibility Consultant that will provide digital accessibility testing and consulting to our amazing customers. You would be working directly with an array of customer organizations who have committed to improving their digital content and improving the web. This position reports to Accessibility Services. A strong candidate for this role is proactive, a life-long learner, and has a track record of delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

 Perform assessments on digital assets for WCAG, EN and Section 508 compliance following the Deque Way methodology.Identify and clearly document accessibility issues.Identify and clearly document remediation recommendations.Demonstrate proficiency with Deque Software Tools to perform accessibility audits.Answer developer questions about accessibility requirements.

Requirements:

Experience - 1 to 3 YearsMinimum of 1 year of experience in professional digital accessibility testing.Experience evaluating web pages for WCAG 2.1 A/AA conformance.Intermediate skill level and accessibility testing experience with at least one of the following screen readers:NVDAJAWSVoiceOverKnowledge in coding accessible web pages using HTML and CSS.Can write accessibility recommendations for remediation.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.1+ years of experience in professional digital accessibility testing.Experience evaluating web pages against one or more of the following standards:Section 508 conformance.EN EU) conformance.Preferable knowledge in  testing any of the following types of digital assets for accessibility: PDF or Microsoft Office documents (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)Basic knowledge of JavaScript and WAI-ARIA.Familiarity with agile web development processes, technologies and toolsBachelor's degree or equivalent.
