A Fabricator-Welder cuts, shapes, and joins metal components using welding, brazing, and other techniques to build structures and products according to blueprints and designs. Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings, using hand and power tools, performing quality control, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety standards in industries like manufacturing, automotive, and construction. Key Responsibilities:

  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and 3D models to understand project specifications.
  • Metal Fabrication: Cut, shape, and bend raw materials into the required components for assembly.
  • Welding Operations: Utilize various techniques such as MIG welding, ARC welding, and TIG welding to fuse metal parts together with precision.
  • Assembly: Assemble and fit metal pieces according to project designs and plans.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products and welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Tool & Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of hand tools and power equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools.
  • Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper working order.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with other team members, including fitters and supervisors, to complete projects efficiently.
