Job Title: Assitant Manager/ Senior Engineer Mechanical

Location: Noida

Department: Design & Engineering

Job Purpose:

To execute design and detailed engineering activities for Bulk Material Handling Systems in accordance with project requirements, company standards, and client specifications. The role involves preparation of design layouts, equipment detailing, and material specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), general arrangement drawings (GAs), and equipment layouts for bulk material handling systems.
  • Carry out detailed design and engineering calculations for conveyors, chutes, silos, hoppers, feeders, and related components.
  • Prepare technical datasheets, BOQs, and material take-offs (MTOs) for project execution.
  • Assist in preparation of technical specifications for mechanical equipment and components.
  • Review and incorporate client comments, vendor inputs, and interdisciplinary feedback in design documents.
  • Generate fabrication drawings and coordinate with draftsmen for detailing.
  • Support senior engineers in design validation, design optimization, and resolving design-related issues during manufacturing and site execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety norms, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation, revision control, and drawing records.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical support to other project functions (procurement, project execution, quality).

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of bulk material handling system design principles, especially conveyors, hoppers, and mechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 3D design tools.
  • Familiarity with Belt Conveyor Design Standards (e.g., CEMA / IS) and mechanical design calculations.
  • Knowledge of material flow characteristics and layout optimization.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality deliverables.

Qualification and Experience:

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience: 3–7 years in design and detailed engineering of Bulk Material Handling Systems (preferably in EPC / OEM / Project Engineering firms).
  • Experience with ash handling or coal handling systems will be an added advantage.

Key Deliverables:

  • Process flow and layout drawings.
  • Design calculations and equipment sizing sheets.
  • Equipment datasheets and technical specifications.
  • Bill of materials (BOM) and material take-off lists.
  • Fabrication and GA drawings.
