Reneonix develops scalable technology solutions for glass recycling and circular economy infrastructure. Our hardware products, including Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs), require precision engineering and fabrication-ready mechanical designs.

Role Overview:

The Mechanical Design Engineer creates detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for hardware products, sensor housings, brackets, assemblies, and sheet-metal components, with a focus on manufacturability and rapid prototyping. The role involves practical engineering tasks and collaborating with R&D and fabrication teams to deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce fabrication-ready 2D technical drawings with correct dimensions, tolerances, annotations, and bend details using CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Develop 3D CAD models of parts, housings, assemblies, and provide sectional/cutaway/exploded views for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Document design assumptions and rationale clearly for engineering and review purposes.
  • Collaborate with fabrication workshops, hardware leads, and other team members to implement designs.
  • Integrate manufacturability constraints and select appropriate joining methods (welding, fasteners, etc.) for sheet-metal and other assemblies.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and problem-solving during product development.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience creating professional 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for fabrication.
  • Solid skills in sheet-metal design, fastener specification, and manufacturability analysis.
  • Proficient in CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar.
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation.
  • Practical experience working directly with fabrication and prototyping teams to deliver manufacturable designs.
  • Experience in hardware for recycling, sustainability, or automation (preferred but not required).
