Your Role

As the Director of Strategy and Innovation, you will be instrumental in driving strategic direction and fostering innovation within the Global Medical Writing function, particularly through AI and data-driven initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountability/Interdependence:

Collaborate extensively with diverse teams, internal stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional units to ensure alignment with global business objectives and leverage data-driven insights for decision-making.
- Impact:

Significantly influence the trajectory of the Global Medical Writing function and the broader organization by implementing strategic innovations that harness AI and data analytics capabilities.
- Complexity:

Navigate multifaceted challenges and diverse stakeholder dynamics to chart new paths for growth and relevance, focusing on integrating advanced technologies and data strategies.
- Scope of People Responsibility:

Provide strong leadership by guiding, mentoring, and inspiring team members to achieve excellence while fostering a culture of data literacy and AI adoption.
- Cooperation:

Work closely with Medical Writing leadership, RQS leadership, R&D Data & Digital IT teams, and external partners to cultivate collaborative partnerships that drive AI initiatives and data utilization.

Who You Are

You are a strategic thinker with a robust technical background and a proven track record in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Your qualifications include:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred, e.g., MBA, PhD) with a strong focus on data science, AI, or related disciplines.

Work Experience: Over 12 years of professional experience in an international Pharma/Biotech/agency setting, with direct experience in Medical Writing preferred. You possess proven leadership skills in driving strategic innovation, particularly in AI and data-driven projects.

  • AI and Data-Driven Strategy: You are adept at leveraging AI technologies and data analytics to enhance business outcomes and streamline processes within the Global Medical Writing function.
  • Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement: You foster a culture of proactive engagement and adaptive transformation, ensuring stakeholders are aligned with data-driven initiatives.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: You lead efforts to harmonize data and digital strategies across Global Medical Writing, RQS, and R&D hubs, ensuring that AI initiatives are integrated seamlessly into strategic objectives.

Key Skills:

  • Strong technical proficiency in AI, machine learning, and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • An innovation-focused mindset with the ability to envision and execute unconventional solutions powered by data insights.
  • Adaptability to navigate ambiguity and complexity with resilience, particularly in the context of evolving technologies and data landscapes.
