The Product Designer position is for the Bikes Product (BikeDekho) at CarDekho. BikeDekho is one of the fastest growing two-wheelers research destination in India with over 1 Million users accessing it every month. With BikeDekho, our vision is to enable the 16 Million+ two-wheeler buyers (every year) in India, to make well informed and hassle-free bike purchases.

Role Description:

With utmost frankness, we think our current product design sucks. We are looking to bring in passionate Product Designers, who live, eat and breathe design. This role would be at the centre of product development, as we think about design as a series of product decisions, we take from time-to-time. As a Product Designer, you would be responsible for:

  • Understanding the product vision at hand, and conceptualising the UI architecture and executing in the form of layouts, interfaces, graphics, icons and so on, before they enter the development phase
  • End-to-end execution - Ability to execute interface layout from scratch including all the graphic components
  • Develop process flows, wireframes, and mockups to effectively conceptualise and communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviours
  • Conduct usability studies and put together detailed, structured analysis of issues and potential solutions.
  • Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of mobile apps
  • Contribute to the Product team's knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies
Skills Required:
  • Understanding of contemporary user experience planning, interaction design and visual design
  • Strong understanding of mobile platforms, particularly Android's design principles. In-sync with the recent design trends (including Material Design)
  • Conduct usability studies and put together detailed, structured analysis of issues and potential solutions.
  • Good conceptualisation ability, strong visual communication ability and creative skills.
  • Ability to create wireframes as well as graphic design components, including detailed/intricate icons
  • Experience with developing user-centric interface designs
  • Ability to work as part of the team and also be able to work independently when required
  • Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and associated design tools.
