Role Overview:
Trellix Network Security Products offers layers of cyber threat protection that secures organizations against the risk of costly breaches. Trellix Network Detection Response (NDR) offers capabilities that detect and stop advanced, targeted attacks within internal networks and between internal and external networks using behavioral techniques including machine learning, and facilitates resolution with concrete evidence, actionable intelligence and response workflows. Trellix Network Sensors ( NX, IPS) extends critical dimensions of protection and detection with its signature based and signatureless capabilities against Exploits, Malwares, Callbacks, Lateral Movements and APTs across On Premise, Cloud and Hybrid environment while PX Sensor completes the forensic capabilities much needed in a post breach scenario. Trellix Network Security portfolio has a broad base of Government, Large and Medium size Enterprise customers worldwide.
Trellix Network Security Product team has a global team of R&D engineers engaged in software, hardware development as well as security research operations and it has a significant presence in India-Bangalore.
Overall, Trellix is a USD 1.5 billion Cyber Security business with decades long heritage of products that protects its customers from financial, legal and reputation implications arising out of cyber threats from sophisticated cyber criminals and nation-state actors. About the role:
We're looking for a Director, Software Engineering to be part of our Network Security Product Engineering team. Reporting to the VP, Software Engineering, you'll be responsible for:
- Shaping the long-term vision for Network Detection and Response (NDR) product to add compelling detection capabilities through collaboration with product management team, network security research team and hardware engineering team.
- Leading a team of innovators build Network Sensors for North-South and East-West detections for On-Premise, Cloud and Virtual environments.
About you:
- 20+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of building and shipping high-quality software, including 5+ years of experience of developing security products like Firewall, IPS, WAF
- 5 years of leadership experience managing teams of 20+ development and test engineers.
- Proven expertise with planning and executing scalable, reliable, and high quality products with significant customer footprint across multiple regions.
- Hands on with technical strategy, system design, and guiding architecture with proficiency in C, C++ and Python.
- Excellent People Management skills to coach and grow a passionate and enthusiastic team of engineers and managers.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

- Communicate with Clarity: Leverage your strong communication skills to articulate technical vision, strategy, and project status.
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
