Hair Colorist

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Colorist to join our dynamic salon team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of color theory and have a flair for creativity in hair coloring techniques. You will be responsible for providing exceptional hair coloring services while ensuring a positive experience for our clients. Your expertise in various hair services, including extensions and styling, will contribute to the overall success of our salon.

Duties

• Perform hair coloring services, including highlights, lowlights, balayage, and color corrections.
• Apply hair extensions and provide consultations on suitable options for clients.
• Utilize salon software, including MINDBODY, for appointment scheduling and client management.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in the work area.
• Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and understanding their needs.
• Assist with front desk duties, including answering phones and managing appointments.
• Mentor junior staff members in hair coloring techniques and salon best practices.
• Upsell additional services such as eyelash extensions, makeup application, or nail care to enhance client experience.
• Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to provide the best service possible.

Qualifications

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license is required.
• Proficient in color theory and various hair coloring techniques.
• Experience with straight razor cutting techniques is preferred.
• Familiarity with salon software systems, particularly MINDBODY.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
• Previous experience in retail sales within a salon environment is a plus.
• Ability to perform hair threading and other specialized services is desirable.
• Knowledge of retail math to assist in inventory management and sales tracking is beneficial.
