Crane assembly technician

Job Summary:
The Crane Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining cranes (mobile, tower, or overhead) to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carrying out the Sub-Assembly and Assembly activities as per instruction by Product Engineer.
- Records the details of activity carried out in the production work sheet
- Install and assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and tests.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations while working with machinery

- Work with engineers and other technicians to solve complex problems and improve systems. Identify and resolve mechanical problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with engineers, electricians, and other team members to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues with the EOT crane
- Install, maintain, and repair EOT cranes and related components.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to diagnose problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of cranes.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Utilize various tools and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all tasks.
- Document all maintenance and repair work accurately.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve crane systems.
- Attend the QHSE awareness program and implement the same at his department.
- Understand the latest QHSE policy, comply with it's Requirements.
- Maintain QHSE manual standard operating procedure and process plan at his department.
- Maintain QHSE objectives at your department for each function
.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification in mechanical, electrical, or heavy equipment preferred.
- Proven experience in crane assembly, maintenance, or mechanical fabrication.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and rigging.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow assembly manuals.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights when required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is mostly on construction sites, industrial plants, or shipyards.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and heavy machinery.
- May require overtime, weekend work, or travel to different sites.
Reporting & Communication:
- Reports daily to the Site Supervisor or Mechanical Lead.
- Communicates safety concerns, progress, and technical issues promptly.
