Broadband Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Broadband FTTH Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Fiber to the Home (FTTH) connections. The technician will work in residential and commercial environments to ensure high-speed internet and voice services are installed correctly and function optimally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform FTTH installations, including fiber optic cable splicing, termination, and ONT/router setup.
• Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements.
• Run and secure fiber optic cables both indoors and outdoors (aerial and underground).
• Configure customer equipment such as routers, modems, ONTs, and Wi-Fi systems.
• Use testing tools (e.g., OTDR, power meter) to verify signal integrity and connection quality.
• Diagnose and repair fiber-related issues, both remotely and on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls.
• Ensure work complies with company standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding services, usage, and troubleshooting.
• Work collaboratively with network engineers and support teams.

Requirements:

• lProven experience as a fiber optic or broadband technician (preferably FTTH).
• Strong understanding of fiber optics, networking, and telecommunication systems.
• Familiarity with FTTH technologies: GPON, EPON, ONT/OLT, splicing techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
