Job Summary
The Blockchain Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-grade blockchain solutions with a focus on scalability, interoperability, and security. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in blockchain protocols (Hyperledger, Ethereum, Quorum) and a proven track record of architecting smart contract systems and leading technical teams in complex, large-scale implementations, preferably within land, property, or public sector projects.
Key Responsibilities
Blockchain Solution Design & Architecture
Design end-to-end blockchain solutions including on-chain/off-chain integration, consensus design, smart contract frameworks, and node topology.
- Develop scalable, secure, and cost-efficient blockchain architectures, optimizing gas fees, transaction throughput, and network performance.
- Define and implement upgrade strategies for smart contract systems, ensuring backward compatibility and operational continuity.
Design strategies for data storage, interoperability, and privacy compliance, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Technical Leadership & Governance
Provide architectural direction and mentorship to blockchain developers, ensuring clean, secure, and modular smart contract development.
- Conduct design and code reviews, enforce best practices for cryptographic integrity, and manage deployment processes across environments.
Establish standards, frameworks, and governance policies for blockchain adoption within the organization.
Integration & Scalability
Develop off-chain/on-chain integration strategies with enterprise systems
- Design node topology, sharding, and scaling mechanisms for distributed applications.
Optimize gas fees, block validation, and transaction costs for both public and private chains.
Compliance, Security & Privacy
Architect secure key management, access control, and auditing mechanisms.
Implement multi-signature, zero-knowledge proof, and privacy-preserving techniques where appropriate.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with business teams, legal, and regulatory stakeholders to translate functional needs into blockchain solutions.
- Document architecture blueprints, deployment patterns, and security models.
- Evaluate emerging blockchain technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Certified Blockchain Architect
- 15+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in blockchain solution architecture.
- Proven experience in land/property registration, public sector, or similar large-scale systems.
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise-grade blockchain networks using Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum or Quorum.
- Deep knowledge of blockchain protocols: Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, Quorum.
- Expertise in smart contract design, audits, and upgrade mechanisms.
- Experience with off-chain/on-chain data integration using APIs, Oracles, and microservices.
- Knowledge of consensus algorithms (PoW, PoS, PBFT, Raft, IBFT).
- Experience designing node topologies, managing scalability, and optimizing gas and transaction costs.
- Strong understanding of legal, compliance, and privacy frameworks (GDPR, KYC/AML).
- Proficiency in cryptographic principles (encryption, hashing, key management, multisig).
- Experience mentoring and leading blockchain development teams.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
