Job Summary

The Design & Estimation Engineer – MEPF is responsible for preparing detailed designs, drawings, BOQs, and cost estimates for MEPF systems. The role involves coordination with clients, consultants, vendors, and site teams to ensure accurate design, cost control, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design Responsibilities

  • Prepare
    MEPF system designs
    including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems.
  • Develop
    shop drawings, layouts, schematics, and single-line diagrams
    as per approved specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with
    NBC, IS codes, NFPA, TAC, local authority norms
    , and client requirements.
  • Perform
    design calculations
    for HVAC load, pump sizing, pipe sizing, cable sizing, lighting, etc.
  • Review consultant drawings and suggest
    value engineering
    options.
  • Coordinate with architectural and structural teams for clash-free design.

Estimation & Costing

  • Prepare
    detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and rate analysis
    for MEPF works.
  • Floating
    enquiries to vendors/subcontractors
    and performing techno-commercial comparisons.
  • Prepare
    tender documents, pre-bid queries, and clarifications
    .
  • Support management in
    budgeting, cost control, and project feasibility
    .
  • Evaluate variations, extra items, and change orders.

Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with
    project execution teams
    for design clarifications and revisions.
  • Attend
    client, consultant, and internal meetings
    .
  • Provide technical support during procurement and installation stages.
  • Assist in
    testing, commissioning, and handover documentation
    .

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant certifications in MEP / Fire Fighting (preferred)

Experience

  • 2–6 years
    of experience in MEPF design & estimation
  • Experience in
    commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in
    AutoCAD
    (mandatory); Revit MEP (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of
    MEPF systems, BOQs, and specifications
  • Good understanding of tendering and estimation processes

Software Knowledge

  • AutoCAD
  • MS Excel / MS Project
  • Revit MEP (optional)
  • Estimation & BOQ tools
